Public Restrooms

Using public bathrooms bothers me, especially toilets.

Now, there is the occasional bathroom that appears clean and up kept, but frequently I find myself in a situation using facilities where there is various amounts of waste and excrement on the urinals and toilets. it’s just unpleasant.

However, I found somewhat of a  working solution for myself recently. Up until about a month ago I worked in a building with 18 floors. As i would see it, it’s unlikely that every single bathroom on each floor would be used as heavily or by the same types of people as the bathrooms that are the dirtiest or most heavily trafficked (they are not always one and the same). So every time I needed to find a toilet, I gave myself about five minutes to walk to various floors and find a suitably clean restroom before I made my selection. It was satisfying not only because I got to use a cleaner bathroom, but also a bit of exercise going up and down the stairs.

This actually worked pretty well, and in my searches, I found a few locations that regularly met my standards of cleanliness. That cut back on my search time dramatically because I just strolled to my first 3 choices and I inevitably found a good bathroom to do my business.

Does anyone else do this? If not, I whole-heartedly recommend it.
